The European Commission adopts the EU Methane Strategy as part of European Green Deal.
Methane has a very high pollution power. At the molecular level it is more powerful than carbon dioxide. It therefore makes a considerable contribution both to air pollution and to the notorious climate change.
A joint effort is therefore needed to tackle the problem of methane emissions with internactional action, since the European Union produces about 5% of world energy emissions.
